Ship Management Group, Marine Team

Tell me your career in Sanko Line and Fil-star Maritime Corp.
It was a great pleasure working with The Sanko Steamship Co., Ltd / Fil-star Maritime Corporation, an excellent learning opportunity, and training that shape you to become a world-class seafarer.
Way back in 2009, I started my seafaring career in Fil-star Maritime Corporation as an Engine Cadet and was molded to become a highly qualified Engineer Officer.
Through experience and knowledge, I was given a chance to work in Sanko Tokyo Office and applied my ability and skills into my designated duties and responsibilities as a Technical Superintendent with the supervision of our General Manager. Moreover, my knowledge has broadened not just on Technical matters but in all aspect of the Shipping Industry because we are working not just an employee but as a team in the Company.
On the other hand, when I finished my one year contract as a Technical Superintendent, I can also apply my learnings, and experience on board the vessel which I consider a great advantage over other seafarers.

Why did you join Fil-star ?
Fil-star Maritime Corporation is the manning agency of The Sanko Steamship Co., Ltd. based in Manila, Philippines.
When I was a freshman in college, I heard a lot about The Sanko Steamship., Co., Ltd. It is a prestigious Company that sponsors a Cadet-ship Training Program for selected schools/selected students all throughout the Philippines. In mid-2007, Fil-star Maritime Corporation conducted a qualifying examination in our school and fortunately, I am one of those students selected to be part of the growing Company.
Since then I was developed by Fil-star to become a competent Marine Engineer with the help of its highly competitive Officers, Engineers, Crew, extensive in-house training programme and external upgrading courses that bolster my capacity.
The Company also set out a standard guideline to ensure safe operation of the ship and environmental protection to provide reliable shipping services. For those above reasons, I'm still in Fil-star Maritime Corporation.

What is Attractiveness of the present job ?
I would say that the current job is very attractive simply because of the working experience.
As a seafarer, it is a very rare opportunity for us to work in the Office most especially in Tokyo. I enjoyed the work, the place, the weather and at the same time learning the Japanese culture.
Significantly competitive salary with the good and hospitable
co-workers that would guide and motivate to achieve your goals.
More benefits accustomed to the employees and concurrently, the Office location is very accessible for everybody.
